What is Personalized Blended Learning?
Personalized Blended learning is intended to facilitate the academic success of each student by first determining the learning needs, interests, and aspirations of individual students, and then providing learning experiences that are customized—to a greater or lesser extent—for each student.
To accomplish this goal, schools, teachers, guidance counselors, and other educational specialists may employ a wide variety of educational methods, from intentionally cultivating strong and trusting student-adult relationships to modifying assignments and instructional strategies in the classroom.
Learners will possess the courage and ability to set goals, navigate their progress, demonstrate mastery and lead change.

"Every child should have their own personalized instructional learning plan for maximized growth in all areas of study. Blended learning is not a program, it’s a mind-set in how we plan and guide instruction for each and every student.” – Dr. Kim Tunnell, Superintendent

2019 Personalized Blended Learning ShowcaseJanuary 2019,TeamOne members shared the awesome work that is happening in Mineola ISD! The Personalized Learning Showcase hosted over 110 teachers, administrators, region service center and university staff from across Texas and partners right here in Region 7! Professional educators were able to hear from students about their learning goals and data process and see the amazing work our teachers are doing in creating engaging learning environments. Visitors witnessed that data and gains in academics are evident without focus on test prep. Mineola ISD is committed to "Focus on Growth for EVERY Child"!
Raising Blended Learners is a demonstration initiative showcasing strategies for using blended learning to improve student achievement across diverse student demographics and geographic regions in the state, particularly among schools and districts with persistent achievement gaps.
The CA (Cat Alexander) Group has been Mineola ISD's consulting partner in both the Raising Blended Learners initiative and the MIZ (Math Innovation Grant). CA Group is partnered with Raise Your Hand Texas on the Raising Blended Learners initiative and leads the design and strategic implementation support components of the program.
Math Innovation Zones (MIZ) is a Texas Education Agency Pilot Grant that supports school districts and
open-enrollment charter schools in the expansion of blended learning
instructional models in math by defining, supporting, and evaluating a
high-fidelity of implementation of the model. Mineola ISD is a pilot grant recipient.
All Pilot Grant sites received a $500,000 implementation grant. Both
Pilot and Exploratory sites receive state negotiated software rates,
access to Math Innovation Zones programmatic resources and will be
eligible for an outcomes-based grant of $100,000 from a high-fidelity
implementation of the program.
The Core Four Elements of Personalized Learning
“Simply adding technology to a classroom isn’t going to fix anything. Learning decisions centered on each student’s individual needs, influenced by the data gleaned through technology in combination with the expertise and human touch of a teacher are — together — what will drive true education transformation.” Phyllis Lockett
