Prior to winning the title of 2017 State Champs, the MHS “Sound of the Swarm” earned a bronze medal in their historic first trip to the state marching band contest in 2015.  The band had set a goal in August this year to return to the state competition and win the gold medal.

Mineola High School advanced to finals following their preliminary performance and was able to beat the reigning four year Whitesboro High School Band to earn the top spot.  Nine other bands advanced to finals from the 20 schools who qualified for the State competition this year.
