Tomorrow, Monday April 8th, Beginning at 1:00, our Elementary campus will be closed to early checkouts as we prepare to witness this historical event.

On Monday, April 8, Mineola will be in the path of the total solar eclipse. Monday will be a regular school day along with a total eclipse that is not expected to be seen again until 2045 (I have been told).
As the District has said before, we will be open and ready for our kids to experience a great educational opportunity, weather permitting. We will have appropriate glasses for each student and staff to view the eclipse, thanks to the Rotary Club of Quitman and Mineola.
Depending on the weather, all students will get to safely view this awe-inspiring event. We have a plan to ensure the safety and enjoyment for our students during the eclipse. On Monday, students are welcome to bring a beach towel to sit on during this viewing time while outside.
I look forward to experiencing this event with the students and staff. This will definitely create memories and stories to share for a lifetime. As you can see, Mr. Kelley is ready!
