Emergency Procedures at Mineola ISD
Standard Response Protocol & Reunification Method
Mineola ISD has adopted the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) and the Standard Reunification Method (SRM) developed by the “I Love U Guys” Foundation. These nationally recognized frameworks provide our district with clear, consistent, and proven procedures to ensure student and staff safety during any emergency.
The SRP is based on five simple actions — Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter — each designed to establish a common language and response plan for all school stakeholders. This protocol enables staff, students, and first responders to act quickly and effectively in any crisis situation.
In the event a campus evacuation becomes necessary, Mineola ISD will implement the Standard Reunification Method, a structured process to reunite students with their parents or guardians in a safe, secure, and accountable manner. This method helps reduce confusion, maintain order, and provide critical communication during high-stress incidents.
We encourage all parents, students, and community members to review the resources below to better understand these protocols and how they are used in our schools. Your awareness and preparedness are essential to the success of our district’s safety initiatives.
