We kicked things off by recognizing Raylie Peebles, our State Qualifier in Cross Country — an incredible accomplishment and a testament to her hard work and dedication.

We also honored our Students of the Month, Sophia Mullins and Eddie Guerra, along with our Staff Member of the Month, Maria Arreguin.

Congratulations to each of you for being true Yellowjacket Champions and representing Mineola with pride!

Today, our Yellowjacket family came together to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served our great nation. We were deeply honored to welcome so many veterans to our campus and celebrate their courage, sacrifice, & unwavering love of country.

A heartfelt thank you to our guest speaker (Heath Kinder) for his powerful words, to our students who participated with pride and respect, and to everyone who helped make this ceremony meaningful and memorable.

Sometimes it’s easy to focus on the negative—but here’s a reminder that *great things are happening right here at MHS!* 💪🐝 Our ‘25–‘26 MHS Student Council used grant funds from Carter Blood Care to **purchase and donate three brand-new microwaves** for the cafeteria! They also provided wipes to help keep them clean so everyone can enjoy them. This is student leadership in action—seeing a need, finding a solution, and making MHS a better place for everyone.
Champions focus on the good—and at MHS, there’s plenty of it. 🧡 #ChampionMindset #MineolaHighSchool #STUCOinAction

Championship mindset isn’t just for the field—it happens in the classroom too!

Shoutout to Chief Castleberry for inviting Officer Jeremy Smith to work with our Psychology students as they experienced a field sobriety test firsthand. Ms. Crone and her students have been studying Sensation and Perception and the effects of Drugs and Alcohol, using the DrunkBusters Goggles funded by last year’s MEF grant. Thank you (Mineola Education Foundation).

Ms. Crone and our students learned a lot, had fun, and saw how real-world experiences bring lessons to life. That’s what a Champion classroom looks like!

In the spirit of community and connection, members of Mineola High School’s Student Council met with representatives from Winnsboro High School’s BETA Club for a friendship gift exchange this past Friday at the Football game. This initiative is more than just a simple exchange—it’s about building bridges, showing unity, and demonstrating what true leadership and sportsmanship look like. At MHS, we believe Champions rise by lifting others, and this is a perfect example of that mindset in action.

At MHS, being a Champion means showing pride in the little things that make a big difference.

This week, two of our students truly lived out that mindset:
✨ One (Victoria Kinder) took time to write affirmations for her classmates, lifting others up with her words.
✨ Another (Aiden Hernandez) showed pride in our campus by picking up trash without being asked.

Small acts, big impact—that’s what being a Champion is all about.

A huge thank you to Whataburger for partnering with us and providing gift cards to celebrate these outstanding Yellowjackets! 🍔🏆

This week, we wear Gold to honor and support children battling cancer.
Gold is the awareness color for childhood cancer because our kids are as precious as gold. By wearing it, we show unity, raise awareness, and stand alongside families and children who are fighting this battle. Let’s shine bright in Gold and show that we care.
