Attn: 8th grade parents! Please send a baby photo of your 8th grader as soon as possible to be used for the 8th grade slideshow at the awards ceremony on May 13th. You can email to bakerd@mineolaisd.net or send with your child to be scanned. Group candids are also needed.

Awards ceremonies are scheduled for May 13 & 14. The sixth grade award ceremony will be on May 14th at 2:45 p.m. The seventh grade ceremony will be on May 13th at 1:45 p.m. The eighth grade ceremony will be on May 13th at 2:30 p.m.
MMS Incentive Trips will be May 17 & 18. The sixth grade trip will be on May 17th. The seventh and eighth grade trip will be on May 18th.
NJHS Induction will be Monday, May 3rd, at 6:00 p.m. in the middle school cafeteria.
Our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade band students just performed at the Grand Saline HS Solo & Ensemble contest. Our awesome students earned 106 1st Divisions!! We are so proud of their hard work! Great day for MMS Sound of the Swarm!

Congratulations to Term 3 Honor Roll Students!
7th grade students are conducting a demonstration about natural selection, the process by which organisms better adapted to their environment tend to survive and produce more offspring.
Sixth grade students are studying Energy Sources in class. They researched the most effective shape, size, and design of the blades and then designed their own wind turbine blades out of cardboard and duct tape. They tested them by measuring voltage output with a voltage meter, improved their designs to increase energy output, then final tested them against the class and entire grade level. Our sixth grade overall winner was Jaxon Beck with an amazing output of 214 watts!
7th grade students will take the STAAR writing test on Tuesday, April 6th.
Parents, Please be aware that due to a high school track meet, you will be unable to enter the stadium parking lot to line up for dismissal until 3:15 p.m. today. We will have this situation again next week on Wednesday, April 7th and Thursday, April 8th. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your help.
This is a message for all 8th grade parents:
The 8th grade dance is scheduled for May 7. This is a dance that is organized by the parents. A parent meeting is scheduled for April 5 at 6:00pm to work on plans for this event. MMS encourages 8th grade parents to attend to help us organize a great celebration for our 8th graders!
