On Wednesday, October 27th, we will be giving the PSAT 8/9 test on our campus. It is available to 8th grade students and the cost is $14.00. The test allows students to practice and prepare for the SAT. It gives them an opportunity to work on timed tests since they tend to struggle within the time constraints of the SAT and ACT. In addition, the PSAT corresponds directly to the SAT, and with the results, you will receive information on how to continue to prepare for the SAT based on your student’s scores.
If you would like for your student to take the PSAT 8/9, please have him or her come by the counselor’s office to sign up by October 22nd. Please make checks payable to Mineola Middle School. Space is limited, so students should sign up as soon as possible. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Dudley at 903-569-5338.

Reminder: Picture Day is tomorrow!

7th Grade Science classes are exploring pioneer species. The students are gathering moss, lichen, and grass samples and viewing them through digital microscopes to determine their characteristics. Thank you, Mineola Education Foundation for the microscopes.

Reminder: Picture Day is Tuesday, September 28th!

Please join us for "Rachel's Challenge", a community event on August 25th at 6:30 p.m. at the High School Gym. Come hear the inspiring true story about one girl's dream to change the world. Rachel’s Challenge was created after the Columbine High School shooting, in honor of Rachel Scott and the other victims lost on that terrible day. As the first widely known mass school shooting, the Columbine tragedy was a catalyst for action for many people. After Rachel’s death, her family discovered that she left behind a legacy of kindness and compassion – through her life, her writings, and the people she had reached out to. One after another, stories emerged about the profound impact of her simple acts of kindness.
