Tuesday, October 13th, 2020 Dear Parents/Guardians and Students, In keeping with Mineola ISD's practices to respond to COVID-19, we are notifying our school community that an employee at Mineola Elementary School has received a lab-confirmed positive test for COVID-19. Our employee is at home recovering and working remotely. Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the name of our employee. We also wanted to provide notification that two (2) students at Mineola High school have received lab-confirmed positive tests for COVID-19 as well. Both students are at home and recovering. We were notified of one case late in the evening on Monday, October 12th, and the other case early this morning. Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the names of these students. To this date, the case count involving Mineola ISD employees and students are as follows: 8 Positive Employee Cases- 7 Recovered, 1 Active 7 Positive Student Cases- 5 Recovered, 2 Active As a reminder, wearing a face covering, practicing social distancing, and washing your hands are things that we can do to control the spread of COVID-19. Each participant is allotted two tickets for purchase. All of our campuses at Mineola ISD continue to be cleaned daily and additional cleaning is provided to all classrooms in which an employee or student has been if a lab-confirmed positive test is received. Good morning everyone! The Mineola ISD District Site Based Team will be meeting on Tuesday, October 6th at 4:30 p.m. in the District Administration Building. If you or someone you know are interested in serving, please email Mr. Cody Mize at mizec@mineolaisd.net. The District Site Based Committee is a committee made up of District and Campus level administrators, teachers, parents, business representatives, and community members. The role of the committee is to review and discuss the district's academic goals, receive an update from the superintendent about events taking place in the district, and offer feedback for district improvement.
