HB 1481 – Personal Communication Device Public Notice During the 89th Texas Legislative Session, House Bill 1481 was approved, which lawfully prohibits the use of personal communication devices by students during the instructional school day and while on school property. This includes devices such as cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, radio devices, paging devices, or any other electronic device capable of telecommunication or digital communication. *The bill requires school districts to adopt policies enforcing this restriction, including disciplinary measures for violations. *We understand that this change may raise questions, and we are working to develop a clear policy outlining how this will be implemented at Mineola High School. *Exceptions can be made for students with documented medical needs or accommodations under an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Section 504 plan. *Devices issued by the school (Chromebook) for academic purposes will not be affected by this restriction. Parents, we encourage you to begin discussing this new law and its implications with your student(s) to help them prepare for the upcoming changes. We will continue to communicate updates on our progress as we work to create a districtwide plan and policy. As always, we appreciate your support and involvement as we move forward together in implementing this new state requirement.

Mineola ISD Vaccine Clinic signups are open for all vaccines. Primary, Intermediate, and Middle Schools will be give at the Intermediate School Cafeteria from 8:30-11:30am. Walk ins are welcome. Reitch Scholarship Scholarship Application Academic Year: 2025 Background on Scholarship: The TUW TOM C & MARY B REITCH SCHOLARSHIP was established to provide scholarships to worthy graduates of the Mineola High School in Mineola, TX, who are designated as beneficiaries of the Reitch Scholarship Trust. Funds from the Trust are to be used to further the higher education of worthy graduates of Mineola High School, in Mineola TX in pursuance of an undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university in the United States of America. The American National Bank of Texas serves as Trustee. Under the terms of the wills establishing the Trust, scholarships to students may be made only for the payment of tuition costs to an accredited college or university for undergraduate studies. Award winners will need to reapply each year to qualify.
