Mineola ISD Adult ESL Program Mineola ISD will offer a class for non-English speaking or limited English speaking parents. This class will provide basic instruction in reading, writing, vocabulary development, and communication skills for daily living. On Tuesday, Mineola High School and Chick-fil-A partnered together to kick off the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy. We are proud to partner with Joshua Johnson, Owner/Operator of the Lindale store to help make this great opportunity a reality for several of our students who desire to make an impact through action.

The Early Act First Knight Program kicked off the first Knighting Ceremony of the school year on Wednesday at the Elementary Campus. Congratulations to each of our students who earned recognition and thank you to all of the families that were able to join us as well.

We are just a couple of hours away from the Homecoming Bonfire of 2022. Bring the family and enjoy the fun! Also, here is a run down of events for this Friday. Early Dismissal will be at 12:00 noon for car riders and 12:30 for bus riders. Finally, if you are having a Class Reunion this Friday night and are planning on tailgating in the parking lot prior to the game, please give us a call so that we can make sure you have a spot at the stadium. Congratulations to the 7th Grade Band and Directors on an outstanding Fall Showcase performance this evening. Come check out the annual Mineola Marching Festival at Meredith Memorial Stadium on Monday, October 10th featuring several great bands from around the region.

A special congratulations this morning to Mineola High School Alumni, Kyle Slayton. Kyle was inducted last night into the Southern Arkansas University Hall of Fame. Kyle had a stellar career as a pitcher at SAU and later went on to win 5 State Championships as a High School Baseball Coach and finished 3rd All-Time in Wins as a Head Coach in the state of Arkansas. Mineola ISD will be hosting an Employee Appreciation Day on Saturday, October 29th, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Mineola Nature Preserve. Mineola ISD will host a District Improvement Committee Meeting on Wednesday, October 5th at 4:00 p.m. in the Primary-Middle School Cafeteria. This meeting is open to students, parents, community members, and business leaders that have suggestions on how we can continue to improve our school district.

On Thursday, October 27th, we are partnering with the East Texas Food Bank to launch the Mineola Mobile Pantry Distribution. The distribution will occur on the last Thursday of each month from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon in the Meredith Memorial Stadium Parking Lot. Please help share the word with those who may be in need.
