Happy Friday everyone! Last night the Mineola ISD Board of Trustees voted to call a bond election on Saturday, May 7th, 2022. The Board of Trustees voted 7 FOR and 0 AGAINST. If the bond is approved by voters, bond proceeds would be used to build a new Primary School serving students in Head Start through 3rd Grade, renovate the current Elementary School into a Career and Technical Education Center, and update other educational facilities. Car riders will be released at 12:00 noon with buses loading shortly afterwards. Mineola ISD will be closed on Friday, February 4th due to continued winter weather. With a winter mixture continuing to fall over the next several hours and temperatures continuing to fall as well, we believe this decision to be in the best interest of our students, their families, and our staff. The Community Forum that was scheduled for tonight (Thursday, February 3rd) has been rescheduled for Monday, February 7th at 6:00 p.m. in the Primary/Middle School Cafeteria to discuss future facility planning. Middle School basketball games that were scheduled for tonight will be rescheduled and JV and Varsity basketball games scheduled for Friday night are being rescheduled as well. Stay warm and be safe! Good morning everyone! A couple of quick updates. On Thursday, February 3rd at 6:00 p.m., a Community Forum will be held at the Primary/Middle School Cafeteria to discuss future facility planning in Mineola ISD. This meeting will be broadcast on the Mineola ISD Facebook page as well and we encourage you to watch and submit any questions or comments that you have in the comment feature. We will respond to each one. Also, the weather forecast continues to show winter weather for Thursday and Friday. We are watching it closely and will try to notify you as soon as possible about any delayed starts or closings. The Mineola ISD District Improvement Committee will meet on Wednesday, January 26th at 4:00 p.m. in the Primary/Middle School Cafeteria. This committee is made up of administrators, teachers, staff members, parents, and community members seeking to improve Mineola ISD. This meeting is open to the public.
