Re: Weekly COVID-19 Update
Good afternoon everyone!
From Saturday, January 23rd through Saturday, January 30th, the following cases of COVID-19 were documented:
1 Primary Campus Staff Member
1 Middle School Campus Staff Member
3 High School Campus Staff Members
1 Non-Specific Campus Staff Member
2 Middle School Students
Since the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year, we have documented the following case counts:
44 Positive Employee Cases- 37 Recovered, 7 Active
54 Positive Student Cases- 52 Recovered, 2 Active
As of Friday, January 29th, 2021 Mineola ISD currently enrolls 1603 students. 99% of our student population is receiving instruction in a face-to-face school setting, while we continue to educate our students that have medical exemptions for the student themselves or a family member in their home. We have conducted over 1,000 COVID-19 tests in the District to help give our students, parents, and staff members the best information possible to make personal healthcare decisions with.
Parents and guardians, we can't thank you enough for your continued cooperation and help throughout this pandemic. Your partnership and support has not only allowed us to open school, but to keep school open, and achieve successful student outcomes in the field of academics and extracurricular events throughout the 2020-2021 school year.
Our best always,
Cody Mize
Superintendent of Schools

The Mineola ISD District Site-Based Team will meet on Monday, January 25th at 4:00 p.m. in the Primary/Middle School Cafeteria to receive a COVID-19 Update, discuss the proposed 2020-2021 academic calendar, and discuss other important information happening within the District.
Also, the Mineola ISD Board of Trustees will meet in a Special Called Board Meeting on Monday, January 25th, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the Mineola ISD Administration Building to consider bids for the upcoming site construction of the remodel of our existing band hall and the construction of our new band hall. Also, the Board will consider action on a resolution to allow additional employee days for quarantine leave and sick leave due to COVID-19 and the expiration of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Weekly COVID-19 Update
In keeping with Mineola ISD's practice of response to COVID-19, we are notifying our school community that for the time period between Monday, January 18th through Friday, January 22nd the following cases of COVID were documented:
2 Primary Campus Staff Members
1 Elementary Campus Staff Member

Since the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year, we have experienced the following case counts:

As hospitalization rates remain above 15% in the East Texas region and vaccine quantities are of limited supply and focused toward targeted members of our population, we must continue to be focused on washing our hands with soap and water for 20 minutes, wearing a mask, and practicing social distancing.
Parents and guardians, thank you again for all of your cooperation and help throughout this pandemic. Your partnership and support has been vitally important in being able to keep our schools open for students.
Our best always,
Cody Mize
Superintendent of Schools

We are very proud to announce the Mineola Band has 4 all state band students this year. This is a new record for MHS! Those students are Gabby Wolf, Emily Phonsnasinh, Ali Gonzalez and Ali Jordan. Congratulations to these students on this huge accomplishment. They will perform this summer in the Texas All State Band.

Good evening everyone! Just a reminder that all staff and students are off tomorrow in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

One of our newest programs at Mineola High School in the Career and Technical Education Department is HVAC and Electrical Systems. This class is taught by Mr. Ramirez and is gaining popularity as a great skill set to obtain before entering higher education or the job market.
This photo captures Mr. Ramirez and students participating in a roundtable discussion with workers in the industry in the newly redesigned classroom space that was formerly the Maintenance Building.
