Good evening everyone!
Roads are starting to get slick in some areas of the District as the snow continues to fall and temperatures fall as well.
School will be cancelled for Monday, January 11th. We have minutes built into the calendar, so we will not have to make this day up in the future.
Enjoy your snow day!

Re: Weekly COVID-19 Update
In keeping with Mineola ISD's practice of response to COVID-19, we are notifying our school community that for the time period between Monday, December 14th through Friday, December 18th we had two positive cases of COVID-19 among our student population. One of these cases were reported at our Primary School and the other case was reported at our Elementary School.
Also, two Primary School employees and three High School employees tested positive for COVID-19 during the week as well.
We continue to deploy our rapid response testing system to help identify and control the spread of the virus among employees and students. Our testing system continues to be an effective tool to help families make appropriate, personal, healthcare decisions. As of Friday, December 18th, 2020, the case count involving Mineola ISD Employees and Students since the beginning of the school year were as follows:
28 Positive Employee Cases- 23 Recovered, 5 Active
50 Positive Student Cases- 48 Recovered, 2 Active
The most effective practices to control the spread of COVID-19 continue to be washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds, wearing a mask, and practicing social distancing. Parents and Guardians, thank you again for all of your cooperation and help throughout this pandemic. Your partnership and support has been vitally important in being able to keep our schools open for students.
We hope each of you have a great weekend and enjoy the Holiday Break! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Re: Weekly COVID-19 Update
In keeping with Mineola ISD's practice of response to COVID-19, we are notifying our school community that for the time period between Monday, December 7th through Friday, December 11th we had 10 positive cases of COVID-19 among our student population. Two of these cases were reported on the Middle School Campus and eight cases were reported on the Primary School Campus.
We had five Primary School faculty and staff members test positive for COVID-19 and one employee not affiliated with a particular campus that tested positive as well.
We continue to deploy our rapid response testing system to help identify and control the spread of the virus among employees and students. Our testing system continues to be an effective tool to help families make appropriate, personal, healthcare decisions. As of Friday, December 11th, 2020, the case count involving Mineola ISD Employees and Students since the beginning of the school year were as follows:
23 Positive Employee Cases- 14 Recovered, 9 Active
48 Positive Student Cases- 37 Recovered, 11 Active
The most effective practices to control the spread of COVID-19 continue to be washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds, wearing a mask, and practicing social distancing. Parents and Guardians, thank you again for all of your cooperation and help throughout this pandemic. Your partnership and support has been vitally important in being able to keep our schools open for students.
I would also like to commend the campus leadership and office staff at Mineola Primary School for their calm, steadfast leadership during the week. They effectively re-positioned staff members, coordinated appropriate COVID testing, and communicated effectively with parents and students during this process to continue to educate our kids in person. Great job!
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me via email at mizec@mineolaisd.net, by phone (903) 569-2448, or feel free to schedule an in person meeting as well. Thank you again!
Have a great weekend and Merry Christmas,
