In keeping with Mineola ISD's practices of response to COVID-19, we are notifying our school community that two students at Mineola Middle School and two students at Mineola High School have tested positive for COVID-19 between Tuesday, November 3rd and Friday, November 6th. All of these students are at home and recovering. Some students have remained completely asymptomatic, while others are experiencing minor symptoms.
Over 122 rapid response tests have been conducted since the inception of the Mineola ISD COVID-19 Testing Program to help determine the exact spread of COVID-19 so that families have the necessary information to make better personal choices and healthcare decisions with.
We also have one employee in a non-academic department that tested positive for COVID-19 and is completely asymptomatic. We are very thankful for the response of our nurses and administrative team as they have worked on these different cases that have presented themselves. To this date, the case count involving Mineola ISD Employees and Students are as follows:
11 Positive Employee Cases- 9 Recovered, 2 Active
31 Positive Student Cases- 11 Recovered, 20 Active
Please continue to help us stop the spread of COVID-19 by washing your wands, wearing a mask, and practicing social distancing.

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,
In keeping with Mineola ISD's practices of response to COVID-19, we are notifying our school community that three students at Mineola High School and ten students at Mineola Middle School have tested positive for COVID-19. All of these students are at home and recovering. Some students are asymptomatic, while others are experiencing minor symptoms. We were notified of one of these cases early on Saturday morning. Another case was identified this morning as a student experiencing minor symptoms was tested and determined positive.
75 rapid response tests were conducted on Saturday and Monday to determine the exact spread of COVID-19 for those determined as potential close contact. We are very thankful for the quick response of our staff members, parents, and the students involved to navigate through this situation. Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the names of these students.
